Car Insurance
Our service is that of an online quote comparison web site. We take the answers you give us in our application form. We then transmit that information to the providers. A provider is someone who provides us with a quote. They may be an insurer or a broker. We tell the provider the questions we ask and then they tell us how to allocate (map) those answers into their system. They then come back to us with a quote.
We work by carrying out a comparison based on a generic description of cover. For example, Comprehensive, Third Party Fire and theft or Third Party only. That is not a detailed description of cover. We also ask the voluntary excess you are willing to accept over and above the compulsory excess.
Our job is to deliver you with a quote comparison which reflects the generic high level description of cover you have given us and the application details you have provided.
When we give you your quote comparison results we will list some of the basic information you have given us. This list is shown below:
- Vehicle Registration
- Vehicle model
- Whether it has been modified
- The policyholders name
- The type of driving license held
- Whether you have had any claims
- Whether you have had any convictions
- The names of any additional drivers
- The type of generic cover you requested
- The requested start date. Whilst this is only a quote if the insurer was thinking of increasing their rates in the near future, then the start date may have a bearing on the premium quoted.
- The annual mileage you estimate you will do
- The vehicle use
- The voluntary excess
- The number of years no claims bonus you hold as a policy holder
- Whether you have any medical conditions
The above, together with your application answers, are the details you have asked us to use in order to provide the quote comparison service. This is your demands and needs that you have given to us.
We then in the results page show you the quotes that the providers have returned to us. We give you the results as we receive them.
If you have had a break in your previous insurance cover, your no claims bonus may not be accepted by the insurance provider. Please contact the insurance provider directly regarding this.
To make the comparison a more informed process, we also ask the providers to give us certain information about what the cover includes. These are split into 5 columns. They are as follows,
- Windscreen cover,
- Courtesy car cover,
- Breakdown cover,
- Personal accident cover,
- Legal expense cover.
A green tick, as per the example shown below, means the cover is automatically included within the price quoted.
Where there is no green tick, we will display a price (where this has been made available to us by the provider), which would need to be paid to add in that cover. If you wish to purchase this extra cover then you will need to add it and pay for it directly with the provider.
The quotes listed in our results page still meet your basic generic cover type, but some policies may include more cover within that generic cover type and some may include less. We show this information to help make the quote returns more informative and to help you make an informed decision.
You can also tick on a “More Details” link which then shows additional details about the policy.
Please remember the following items.
The quotes are given in real time. They can change and no quote is said to last for any given period of time. All quotes are subject to immediate change without notice.
The quotes we display are as given to us by the Provider. We only know the information we have been given.
When you purchase you will be purchasing direct from the provider. You will then be subject to their service levels and be dealing direct with them. We are not involved at the point of purchase. That is between you and the provider.
The application answers you have given us will have been mapped to the providers system. The questions raised by the actual provider of the policy may vary from the questions that we have asked you. Where an exact match for one of our questions was not available on the provider’s website, we have taken their advice and created an appropriate mapping. During the quote comparison process you have been asked, and you have agreed, to check those answers match the questions asked by the provider offering the insurance policy you are purchasing. It is very important that you do so.
When dealing with the provider you can ask any additional questions you have about that cover. You are free to take up another insurance policy with that provider or use a different provider. You can tell that provider the demands and needs you have for that specific policy.

Pet Insurance
During the application process you will have been asked to indicate the type of cover you were looking for. We send that request out to brokers and insurers who return quotes based on that request. Pet insurance meets the demands and needs for someone who wants to provide some cover for insured veterinary fees. The level of cover will vary from policy to policy and the choices you made during the application process. Some policies are more comprehensive than others.
Travel Insurance
During the application process you will have been asked to indicate the type of cover you were looking for. We send that request out to brokers and insurers who return quotes based on that request. Travel insurance is usually made up of a collection of cover sections. Cover varies between providers, the sections of cover you requested and how comprehensive that insurance policy is intended to be.
Breakdown Cover
During the application process you will have been asked to indicate the type of cover you were looking for. We send that request out to brokers and insurers who return quotes based on that request. Breakdown cover meets the needs of those who want to protect themselves against the cost of an unexpected vehicle breakdown. Policies vary in cover given and there may be limitations for certain types of vehicle or vehicle usage. Not all breakdown cover is written as an insurance contract or a regulated insurance contract.
