Angelic Energy
Launched by Islington Council in 2017, Angelic Energy was the first not-for-profit energy company in London for more than 100 years, and is one of just a handful of domestic energy suppliers in the UK that are run as not-for-profits (the LECCY, CitizEn Energy, White Rose Energy, Great North Energy, Robin Hood Energy and Ebico are a few of the others).
Angelic Energy supplies both gas and electricity, which is facilitated through a supply partnership with Robin Hood Energy.
If you live in London and are thinking of switching to Angelic Energy why not use our energy price comparison service to compare tariffs now? It’s free to use, and you’re under no obligation to switch.
Is Angelic Energy only able to supply customers in Islington?
No, while Angelic Energy was launched by Islington Council and the council still owns 100% of the business, you don’t have to live in Islington in order to switch to Angelic Energy.
However, this supplier doesn’t supply customers throughout the UK – you do have to live somewhere in Greater London in order to switch to Angelic Energy.
How long does it take to switch to Angelic Energy?
While some energy suppliers are able to complete a switch within 21 days, Angelic Energy indicates that new customers should allow up to six weeks for a switch from your current energy supplier to Angelic. However, it’s worth pointing out that your energy supply will not be interrupted during the switching process no matter how long it takes to complete.
Does Angelic Energy supply gas as a standalone utility?
Yes, Angelic Energy is one of just a handful of energy suppliers in the UK that can provide a gas-only supply.
By contrast, many of the country’s other small energy companies, including Together Energy, Ovo Energy, M and S Energy, Sainsbury’s Energy and Igloo Energy, are only able to supply gas if customers sign up to a dual fuel tariff.
Does Angelic Energy supply renewable electricity?
Yes, Angelic Energy’s electricity supply is from 100% renewable energy sources, and is sourced from a combination of wind and solar energy generators.
I’m with a different energy supplier but I’m thinking of switching to Angelic Energy – can Quotezone.co.uk help me to compare their tariffs to make sure they’re competitive?
Yes, Quotezone.co.uk’s energy price comparison service can help you to compare Angelic Energy’s current gas and electricity tariffs against those offered by other suppliers in the UK.
How much could I save by switching to Angelic Energy?
That will depend on a wide range of variables, including which supplier you’re currently with, which tariff you’re currently on and how much energy you tend to use, but according to Angelic Energy’s own data a customer could save an average of £309 if they were switching from one of the ‘Big Six’ suppliers.
Of course, if you’re currently with a smaller, cheaper energy supplier the amount you might save by switching to Angelic Energy could be quite a bit lower than this, so the best plan is to use Quotezone.co.uk’s energy price comparison service to find the cheapest tariff.
Does Angelic Energy support smart meters?
Yes, Angelic Energy does support smart meters, and customers that want to have a smart meter installed can do so free of charge through Angelic’s licenced supply partner, Robin Hood Energy.
Angelic Energy reviews: good or bad?
As a relatively new energy supplier, and one that only supplies customers in the Greater London area, Angelic Energy has a fairly small customer base and hasn’t received many customer reviews. However, the few reviews Angelic Energy has received have generally been fairly positive.
