Zog Energy
Founded in Ipswich in 2013, Zog Energy is a fairly unusual energy supplier for the UK market in that it doesn’t supply electricity. The energy firm’s co-founders, Andrew Cleveland and Tony Chester, have indicated that they decided to start with gas when they launched their energy startup because gas usually accounts for the largest proportion of a domestic energy customer’s utility bills.
With a background in technology and engineering, Zog Energy’s founders use cloud computing, software development and efficient customer service technologies to reduce the business’s overheads, with those cost savings then passed on to customers in the form of lower gas bills.
If you’re thinking of switching your gas supplier and would like to find out which energy company might offer you the best deal why not use our energy price comparison service now? It’s free to use, and you’re under no obligation to switch.
Does Zog Energy plan to supply electricity?
Zog Energy’s co-founders began with gas because their research indicated that a customer’s gas supply usually accounted for the largest proportion of their energy bills, but it is very likely Zog will begin supplying electricity at some stage.
This may not happen for some time, though, so if you would like to use Zog Energy as your gas supplier you’ll need to find an alternative electricity supplier in the meantime.
I’m currently with Zog Energy but I’d like to switch to another gas supplier – can Quotezone.co.uk help me to do that?
Yes, if your gas is currently supplied by Zog Energy but you’re thinking of switching to a different energy supplier then Quotezone.co.uk’s energy comparison service can help you to both compare tariffs and switch to a new supplier.
And if you’re thinking of switching both your gas and electricity you should also be able to find energy suppliers through our comparison service that are able to offer a dual fuel tariff.
Does Zog Energy charge exit fees?
If you’re on one of Zog’s variable tariffs you won’t incur an exist fee if and when you decide to switch to a different gas supplier, but when it comes to the company’s fixed rate tariffs some do impose a £30 exit fee while others will allow you to switch without incurring a fee.
With that in mind, if you’re currently on a fixed rate tariff with Zog Energy it would be best to check with your supplier to find out whether or not a fee will apply when you’re ready to switch.
I’m with a different energy supplier but I’d like to compare Zog Energy’s gas prices – can Quotezone.co.uk help me to do that?
Yes, Quotezone.co.uk’s energy comparison service can help you to compare gas prices from a wide range of suppliers, including Zog Energy, although with some suppliers you won’t be able to switch through our site.
Depending on the particular supplier you decide to move to you’ll either be able to switch online via Quotezone.co.uk or else contact the supplier directly to make the switch, but either way you’ll be able to use our comparison service to compare tariffs first.
Does Zog Energy supply business energy?
Yes, Zog Energy supplies energy to business customers in addition to serving domestic customers.
Of course, if your business also plans to switch to a different electricity supplier you’ll need to find an alternative supplier, since Zog currently only supplies gas.
Fortunately Quotezone.co.uk’s business electricity comparison service can help you to compare business electricity tariffs and switch to a new supplier.
Does Zog Energy supply domestic gas customers throughout the UK?
Zog Energy can supply gas to domestic energy customers anywhere on the UK mainland, ie England, Scotland and Wales.
How much could I save on my gas bills by switching to Zog Energy?
The exact amount you might save if you switched to a different gas supplier would be based on a wide range variables, including which supplier you’re currently, the tariff you’re currently on, the tariff you’re planning to switch to and how much gas you typically use, so it’s difficult to predict how much you could save until you use our comparison service to compare energy tariffs.
